2009 Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam on 30 October -08 November 2009
The 2009 Asian Indoor Games will be held in Vietnam on 30 October -08 November 2009. It will be the third and the last annual Asian indoor Games event before merging with Asian martial arts games. All of the demonstration sports in the game namely, Kurash and kickboxing will be included in this years Asian Indoor Games. Also, Vovinam and Pencack Silat, two martial Arts known to Vietnam and where Vietnam is expected to have a lion share of gold medal will be included. The Indoor Athletics Stadium is located in the Hanoi Athletes Training Center, in My Dinh Village was prepared for a successful Games. The Olympic Council of Asia (OCA), the highest governing body of sports in Asia, has awarded the right to Vietnam Olympic Committee (VOC) to host the 3rd Asian Indoor Games in Vietnam. Many International sporting events are organized every year in Vietnam. But Games like the Asian Indoor Games, requires a specific plan with concentrated efforts involving various organizations for its success. To steer these activities, the Vietnam Asian Indoor Games Organizing Committee (VAIGOC) was formed under the support of Vietnamese Government, Ministry of Culture, Sports & Tourism, National Administration of Physical Culture & Sports, Vietnam Olympic Committee
