Arnis, part of Educational athletic League in the Philippines

 

  On April 29, 2009, as the Arnis bills entitled “An Act Declaring Arnis as the Philippine    National Sport”, which was introduced by some politicians other committee members, passed  in a public hearing held in the Senate of the Philippines, Arnis is now a regular event in  the Educational Athletic League, being the premier collegiate sports league in the Philippines Good news to all ‘Arnisadors’. In this place some politician stated that there is no existing    official national sport and that the institutions they represent have no qualms about Arnis,  they  declared Arnis as the official national sport of the Philippines.

  Present were also some Arnis practitioners well known in the field, including our member  Mr. Ryan C. Gialogo, Philippine representative.
